With the new year here, I think it is only appropriate to make some goals.
I decided to write them not only on a piece of paper, but on here also.
I believe that seeing them written constantly will keep me accountable.
I have also heard that it takes twenty-one days to form a true habit.
Therefore - I will practice all of my goals solidly for 21 days.
I plan on them, then, turning into a routine. A great one.
So here they are, my goals for 2011:
- Change my eating habits. Colton and I have already agreed on this together. So in a few hours we will throw everything away in our refrigerator and in our pantry. Then we will be driving to the grocery store to replace what we have thrown out with healthier things. This diet is VERY strict! Yikess.
- Start attending our gym more frequently. We started out by saying three days a week, and I have quickly changed my plan to four days. I will also hire a personal trainer for two of those days per week. I have a perfect image in my mind of what I want my body to look like.. and it will!
- Coltons favorite: Early to bed, early to rise. This is something I struggle with. I will change my bed at 11:00 and rise at 8:30, to a bed at 10:00 and rise at 6:00.
- Read
moresomething. I will search for books that not only interest me, yet strengthen my mind as well. I am making a goal to read two books a month. This may be a small goal, but it's where I will start. - Work hard on my DIY projects and work towards earning a booth at The Quilted Bear. I would love to be able to make money off of something that I thoroughly enjoy doing.
- Be more grateful. I do not feel that I am ungrateful. I just feel that I could show it more. I am so very blessed in many aspects of my life, and I need to fully realize this.
- Give service!! I am setting a goal to do at least one service project a month. Colton has said that he is wanting to share this goal with me as well. I am super excited for this one.
- Strengthen the relationship I have with myself. I would like to be more confident in my potential and with all of the things I have to offer. I want to make a goal to myself, without a time frame because I am unsure of how long this will take, to put aside all insecurities that I have within myself.
- Forgive more willingly. I am a forgiving person, maybe it is the forgetting that I am not too great at. So maybe I will work on forgiving and forgetting.
- Look for the beauty in all things. There is beauty in everything and everyone. I want to no longer look at anything negative, only the positive things.
- TRAVEL!!! We have our trip in a little over a month! But besides that, I would like to see more of the world. I would like to make a goal to put 10% of each paycheck towards my traveling fund.
So, there are a few of my goals right there.
With many more things I could work on I'm sure.
But for right now I will work on conquering these ones.
I am so excited to see what is ahead for us this new year.
